Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you use email/password authentication, a hashed version of your password (we never store plaintext passwords). If you sign in via Google or GitHub, we receive the profile information those providers share (typically name and email).

We also collect basic usage data — pages visited, searches performed, and features used — to understand how the service is used and to improve it.

When you upload a recipe photo for analysis, it is sent to third-party AI services for processing. Recipe photos are used solely to generate your analysis results and are not stored by Nutrons after processing is complete. The AI providers may process data according to their own policies (see Third-Party Services below).

We use the following third-party services to operate Nutrons:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• OpenAI — AI-powered recipe analysis and content generation
• Pinecone — semantic search for ingredient matching

These services process data on our behalf. We select providers with reasonable security practices, but we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

We use essential cookies only — specifically for maintaining your authentication session. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain your account
• Process recipe analyses you request
• Improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns
• Communicate service updates if necessary

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to restrict processing.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregate usage data may be retained indefinitely.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Continued use of Nutrons after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
